MMI - Housing
MMI does help with housing. They have apartments they are affiliated with, but I
never saw them. I was married, and needed a garage for my motorcycle, so I went
out and got my own place.
If you're a single person, check out the apartments MMI has. They are going to want
to put you up with a roommate, that will allow you to live for less. However, I
did hear some horror stories about roommates, luckily I didn't have to go that route.
If you want to find your own place, do what I did. I grabbed one of those "Apartment
Guides" you can find at most 7-11s or grocery stores. They break Orlando down by
quadrants, and then list each amenity the apartments have. For example, if a garage
and in-unit washer/dryer is important to you, you can scan down the table and quickly
identify each complex that has those available. You can then call them to see if
they have vacancies and verify the costs, and if all sounds good go visit them.
It only took me 2 days to visit 10+ complexes, and I found one that I really liked.
